THE BIG DAY

That day when I married Rachel was definitely a special one - and also a reminder of a much bigger & awaited event of my life. So it wasn't surprising I wrote something the day before my marriage.

I'm getting married in another two days. And I am sure you can easily guess that I'm excited.

I can't wait to see Rachel this Saturday and make her mine! Frankly saying while others are busy making the wedding day arrangements, I am quite busy thinking about how it'll be when I'm seeing her in two days walking down the aisle - Wow.

“She was taken back by such love - a kind unheard of, nor shown by anyone - ever! ”

But as the dates get closer and my excitement ever increasing, I am also reminded of a Bigger day - a more important and much awaited one - when the 'Most Perfect Groom Ever' will marry His bride. To talk about me and Rachel - I didn't make big sacrifices to win Rachel's heart. In fact, I am still surprised she decided to marry me in the first place.

But this Groom paid a big price for His bride. If there is one reason this marriage is taking place - it's His love. While hanging on that Cross, beaten and bleeding - the bloody Groom(He barely looked human!) had His bride in His mind. Unlike Him, she wasn't very perfect - with flaws, weaknesses and failures - she never looked like the 'bride-to-be'. But The Groom simply loved her and gave Himself for her. She was taken back by such love - a kind unheard of, nor shown by anyone - ever! The Groom made it clear on the Cross - "I'm giving up everything - for you."

Every drop of blood He shed, was aimed at turning the 'unworthy her' to a beautiful bride. His love was an answer to all her questions, fears and doubts. He won her heart by what He did. She is His now - and He looks forward to take her hand in marriage.

No human heart can fathom the magnificence of that beautiful day - when Jesus comes for His church! The Church has always been His bride, and now He is coming back for her. That's a much bigger day - in fact it's gonna be "The Big Day" for all of us! Isn't that exciting?! The count-down began long back and I hope you and I are getting ready for that day - when He makes us His - forever!
